How to migrate print clusters – W2K3 64bit print cluster migration

In the source cluster

1. Fail all resources to one node  2. Run printmig3.1, connect to the virtual name of the cluster and export  3. export cluster subkeys of type SPOOLER [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Cluster\Resources\\Parameters]  4. export shares registry key  [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\lanmanserver\Shares]

5. locate the Spooler resource GUID on the destination cluster HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Cluster\Resources\ 6. Edit the cluster registry export file from the source cluster, replacing all references towith7. Edit the cluster registry export file from the source cluster, replacing all references off the source cluster virtual name with the destination cluster virtual name 8. Edit the shares registry key from the source cluster, ensuring only printer shares are included (remove any other share type entires)

On the target cluster

9. Fail all resources to one node
10. Merge the modified registry keys from steps 6-8
11. Run printmig3.1, connect to the virtual name and restore
12. Fail all resources to the second node
13. Repeat steps 10-11

(If migrating from 32 to 64, ensure you make the 64 bit drivers on the source and target first)
